NORTHERN ALBERTA - TITANIUM CORP. of Toronto is planning $3-million on-site pilot program this year to test recovery of heavy minerals from oil sands tailings. A mineral processing plant is being built in Australia and will be shipped to Fort McMurray this summer. The company's existing bulk sampling facility will become an integral part of the pilot program.

Upon completion of the pilot program, Titanium Corp. intends to begin the first phase of commercial development, focusing on the production of zircon. The commercial zircon facility would be constructed in place of a previously planned demonstration plant. The company believes demand for zircon will continue to outpace supply. The titanium pigment market, it says, is likely to become more competitive, so the company will seek other uses for its titanium-bearing minerals.

A description of the project is posted at www.TitaniumCorporation.com.
