African Gold Group of Toronto has welcomed Stan Bharti as chairman and new board members Bruce Humphrey, John Begeman and Stephan Theron. Theron is also the company’s new CEO, and Brett Richards the new president and COO. Walter Segsworth has been named chair of the board at Happy Creek Minerals in Vancouver. He has over 40 years of experience in mining throughout Canada and overseas in executive roles at Westmin Resources and Homestake Mining. He is a past chairman of the Mining Association of British Columbia and the Mining Association of Canada. Segsworth was also honoured as B.C.’s mining person of the year in 1996. Toronto-based Lithium Energi Exploration has named Miles Rideout as director of exploration. He previously served five years as CEO of Latin American Minerals and more than 20 years with Quantec Geoscience. NxGold Ltd. of Vancouver has appointed Darren Lindsay as VP exploration and development. The company has plans to drill its Kuulu (formerly Peter Lake) gold project in Nunavut this summer. The new VP of exploration at Vancouver’s Strikepoint Gold is Andy Randall. He is the founder of Strata GeoData Services that launched the Hive initiative to give graduate geologists the opportunity to work and be mentored on real geological projects. Randall was honoured in 2016 by the CIM as the Bedford Young Mining Leader for the Hive concept. Victoria Gold Corp. of Toronto has named Paul D. Gray its VP exploration. A graduate of Dalhousie University, he has worked in the Americas and Asia for 21 years with experience in uranium, base and precious metals.
