Vancouver-based Alderon Iron Ore Corp. has named Brian Penney its new COO. He has extensive knowledge about the deposits of the Labrador Trough thanks to his many years with Iron Ore Company of Canada. He was most recently president and CEO of Ridgemont Iron Ore.

Canstar Resources of Toronto has named Danniel J. Oosterman its president and CEO. He claims experience managing both greenfield and brownfield projects, and will oversee the company's flagship  Mary March project in the Buchans area of Newfoundland.

Kincora Copper of Vancouver has recently reallocated its executive talent. Former president and CEO John Rickus is now the chairman, and Jonathan (Sam) Spring has stepped into the roles of president and CEO from that of VP of corporate development. Former chairman Stephen Fabian is now an independent director.

Richard Harrisson has been retained by Premier Gold Mines of Thunder Bay, ON, as director of Mining. He was recently engineering superintendent for Agnico-Eagle Mines. Harrisson holds a degree in mining and mineral engineering from Laval University.
