MINING PEOPLE: Almaden, Integra Gold, Karnalyte Resources, and Pele Mountain

Headquartered in Vancouver, Almaden Minerals has named Doug McDonald its VP of corporate development. His career includes investment banking, corporate mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, foreign trade and resource policy.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Almaden Minerals has named Doug McDonald its VP of corporate development. His career includes investment banking, corporate mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, foreign trade and resource policy.

The new chairman of Integra Gold Corp. in Vancouver is George Salamis. He has more than 25 years experience in all facets of the mining industry, including 12  years with Placer Dome and Cameco. Salamis is a graduate of the Université de Montreal-Ecole Polytechnique.

Karnalyte Resources of Calgary has asked Bruce Townsend to assume the role of president and CEO in addition to his job as chairman of the company. He is replacing former president and CEO Thomas Drolet on an interim basis.

Martin S. Cooper is the new VP of aboriginal affairs at Toronto-based Pele Mountain Resources. He is an archaeologist with over 30 years of experience. He is also a partner and senior archaeologist with Archaeological Services, one of the largest cultural heritage firms in Canada. Cooper has been a member of the Pele Mountain board for 18 years.
