Toronto's Altai Resources has named Raymond Savoie a director of the company. Involved in the exploration and development industry for the past 25 years, he is currently president and CEO of Ditem Exploration and Gastem. Savoie was Quebec's minister of mines from 1985 to 1991, and minister of revenue from 1991 to 1994.
John Langton is now president of Cartier Iron Corp. of Toronto. He replaces Paul R. Ankcorn who has resigned. Langton has been the company's VP exploration since July 2011.
Vancouver-based CuOro Resources Corp. has named Marc Cernovitch its president and CEO.
Integra Gold Corp. of Vancouver has appointed Francois Chabot its manager of engineering and operations. Chabot is well known and respected by the mining community in Val d'Or, QC. He will be in charge of all facets of the Lamaque gold project in that town.
Bruce Humphrey and Dr. Parviz Farsangi have joined the board of Toronto-based Liberty Mines. Humphrey was recently the chairman of Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines. Farsangi is a former executive VP and COO of Vale, and more recently the CEO of Scorpio Mining.
Jack H.L. Miller has joined the technical advisory board of Vancouver's Redhawk Resources. Prior to his retirement in 2010, he was COO of Quadra FNX Mining.
SGS Mineral Services has named Stephanie Downing as manager of the advanced mineralogy facility in Lakefield, ON. She is a graduate of Queen’s University with both a BSc in geology and geography and a MSc in geological sciences. She joined SGS in 1996 as a junior mineralogist and was promoted to senior mineralogist in 2007.
