Altitude Resources of Calgary has named Gene Wusaty its new president and CEO, effective Nov. 1, 2013. He is currently the chairman of the company and recently he was managing director and CEO of Coalspur Mines. He has also been COO at SouthGobi Energy, president of Ivanhoe Coal, and COO at Grande Cache Coal.

Paul Dircksen has joined the board of Vancouver-based Avrupa Minerals. He has a strong technical background and was a member of teams that made nine gold discoveries, seven of which later became producing mines. Dircksen holds an MS in geology from the Mackay School of Mines at the University of Nevada.

The Mosaic Company of Plymouth, MN, has elected Tim Gitzel, the CEO of Cameco, to the Mosaic board of directors to fill a seat left vacant by the retirement of Harold H. MacKay.

Orbite Aluminae of Montreal continues to fine tune its executive management. Denis Arguin, VP operations has been promoted to VP engineering and operations. Yves Noel, formerly chief marketing officer, has been named VP business development. Former chief engineer Denis Primeau, has left the company.

Jacques Perron will be joining Thompson Creek Metals of Denver, CO, as CEO and a director. Formerly president and CEO of St Andrew Goldfields, Perron holds a BSc in mining engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal. The appointment is effective no later than Nov. 1, 2013.
