MINING PEOPLE: Amarc Resources, Equitas, Falco, Osisko, Pacific Potash, and Teck

Equitas Resources Corp. of Vancouver has named Kyler Hardy as president and director. He is a founder and former CEO of UTM Exploration Services. David Hodge resigned from the presidency but will remain on the board.

Vancouver-based Falco Resources has nominated three new board members: Claude Ferron who was responsible for mining, smelting, refining and recycling operations for Xstrata Copper; Luc Lessard who is currently COO of the Canadian Malartic partnership and before that Osisko Mining; and Rene Mario, past president of AuRico Gold during the development of the Young-Davidson mine.

Osisko Gold Royalties of Montreal has appointed Francoise Bertrand to its board of directors. Recently appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada, Bertrand is the president and CEO of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec. She sits on numerous boards of directors of profit and non-profit organizations, including Valeurs mobilières Desjardins and Concordia University.. Bertrand was also a former Chair of Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).

Vancouver-based Pacific Potash Corp. has named Dr. Charlie Cheng its new president and COO. He has explored for a wide range of metals in North and South America and Asia for over 30 years. Cheng holds a PhD in geology from the University of British Columbia and an MSc and BEng from the China University of Geosciences.

Effective immediately Laura Dottori-Attanasio and Tracey McVicar have become board members at Vancouver’s Teck Resources. Dottori-Attanasio is senior executive VP and chief risk officer at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce. McVicar is a managing partner of CAI Capital Management, a private equity firm.
