Arianne Phosphate of Saguenay, Que., has named Dominique Bouchard its new executive chairman. He was vice rector of resources from 2014 to 2017 at the Universite du Quebec in Chicoutimi as well as having a 33-year career with Alcan and Rio Tinto. Calgary-based Canadian Natural Resources has promoted several executives within the company, effective at the end of February 2018. Steve Laut will become executive vice chairman, and Tim McKay, currently COO, will be president. Scott Stauth, currently executive VP field operations, will become COO of the oil sands unit, and Darren Flichter, now exec VP of Canadian conventional, will be the COO of exploration and production. A new technical team has been named at Nouveau Monde Graphite in Saint Michel des Saints, Que. The three appointments are Pierre Terreault as principal director, Martin Brassard as research and development director, and Eric Forget as process and metallurgy director.
