MINING PEOPLE: Athabasca Minerals, Columbus Gold, Gespeg Copper, and Wood Buffalo Environmental

Joseph Denis is now operations manager for the northern Alberta aggregate operations of Edmonton's Athabasca Minerals. He is a graduate (honours) from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in civil engineering.

Vancouver-based Columbus Gold Corp. has named Rock Lefrancois to the position of COO. He is a professional geologist with 25 years of experience including as a geologist at mid-tier producers and in high level management positions and directorships with Canadian juniors.

Sylvain Laberge is now president and CEO of Gespeg Copper Resources of Saskatoon. He replaces Victor Goncalves who assisted with the founding of the  company.

The Wood Buffalo Environmental Association has elected Peter Fortna to its governance committee. He is also manager of sustainable development with the Fort McKay Metis community.
