MINING PEOPLE: Aton Resources, Kombat Copper, and Rubicon Minerals

Aton Resources of Vancouver has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of Rick Cavaney as VP exploration and Javier Orduna as head of exploration. The company is preparing an initial resource report for the Hamama West deposit in Egypt. Fanie Muller is the new VP operations and country manager for Toronto-based Kombat Copper. He holds degrees in mine engineering and project management from the University of Pretoria. The company also named Sarah Roberts its VP finance, mergers and acquisitions. The appointments take effect on Nov. 1, 2016. Rubicon Minerals Corp. of Toronto has named George Ogilvie its president and CEO, upon and subject to the completion of a refinancing and recapitalization transaction. The company is planning to make a $40 million equity financing.
