MINING PEOPLE: Barrick, Cobalt Power, eCobalt, Eldorado Gold, and Teck



Barrick Gold of Toronto has nominated Patricia A Hatter as an independent director. Previously an executive of Intel/McAfee, she brings broad expertise in technology and digital transformation to her new role.

Toronto-based Cobalt Power Group has added two new faces to its executive team. Chris Healey becomes VP of exploration and Glenda Kelly becomes VP of corporate communications. Both will sit on the company’s board of directors.

Darby Stacey is the new mill and processing manager for Vancouver’s eCobalt Solutions. He will be responsible for leading all mineral processing and metallurgical activities at the Idaho cobalt project. Recently, Stacey was mill manager at Lundin’s Eagle nickel-copper mine.

Eldorado Gold of Vancouver says several management changes are underway. Timothy Garvin has joined the company as executive VP and general counsel. Andor Lips is now VP of government relations in Europe. Executive VP administration Dawn Moss retired at the end of February and Eduardo Moura, VP and GM in Greece, left the company on the same date. CFO Fabiana Chubbs is leaving the company at the end of April 2018.

Vancouver’s Teck Resources has named Kieron McFayden senior VP energy. A graduate of the University of Glasgow, he has more than 30 years of technical, operational and commercial experience. McFayden succeeds Ray Reipas who will retire from Teck on April 30, 2018.
