MINING PEOPLE: Bayswater, Centerra, Golden Star, Ivernia, and Roxgold

Bayswater Uranium Corp. of Vancouver has named Victor A. Tanka president and CEO of the company. He replaces George Leary who will retain his seat on the Bayswater board.


Bayswater Uranium Corp. of Vancouver has named Victor A. Tanka president and CEO of the company. He replaces George Leary who will retain his seat on the Bayswater board.

The retirement of Ronald H. Colquhoun, VP and COO of Toronto-based Centerra Gold, has been announced effective Feb. 1, 2013. The role will then be filled by Gordon D. Reid, who is currently VP operations.

Golden Star Resources has promoted Sam Coetzer to president and CEO from COO. The company is moving its offices to Toronto from Denver, and current CEO, Tom Mair, has elected not to move. Tim Baker, former COO of Kinross Gold, will joint the board, effective Jan. 1, 2013.

Toronto-based Ivernia Inc. has named Wayne Richardson its new president and CEO. Former CEO Alan De’ath will receive a retirement package consistent with his employment agreement, and he will continue to be a part-time advisor for three years.

Roxgold Inc. of Toronto has installed a new management team that includes John Dorward as president and CEO, Paul Criddle as COO, Aoife McGrath as VP exploration, and Ben Pullinger as senior manager geology.
