MINING PEOPLE: Beaufield, Bestech, Discovery Metals, GoldQuest, Osisko, and Potash Ridge

Beaufield Resources of Montreal has appointed Ronald Stewart its permanent president and CEO. Additionally, Herve Thiboutot has been named a director. Sudbury, Ont.-based Bestech has recently hired Lorri McCann, previously at SNC-Lavalin as mechanical civil structural manager. Steve Langille, recently at J.L. Richards, has been named senior principal engineer. Peter Drobeckis the new VP exploration at Toronto’s Discovery Metals Corp. He is credited with several discoveries over his 35-year career including Filo del Sol, Casphiche, PInos Altos. His holds an MSc in economic geology from the Colorado School of Mines. GoldQuest Mining Corp. of Vancouver has announced the retirement of CEO Julio Espaillat, effective on Sept. 12, 2017. The company’s executive chairman, Bill Fisher, will assume the role of CEO. Montreal’s Osisko Metals has appointed and exploration team as it hunts for base metals in New Brunswick. They are Robin Adair as VP exploration and Gary Woods as senior exploration manager for the Bathurst project. Potash Ridge Corp. has asked its president and COO, Andrew Squires, to take on the additional role of CEO on an interim basis.
