Calgary-based Boxxer Gold Corp. has named Jason Riley president and CEO. Elmer B. Stewart has accepted the position of interim COO.

Senior South African mining executive Mark Farren has joined Ivanhoe Mines of Vancouver as executive VP of operations. He will lead the company's engineering and development activities in sub-Saharan Africa.

Mediterranean Resources of Vancouver has named Yilmaz Manisali as COO and to the board. He has a background in international banking and the Turkish steel industry.

The new CEO of Vancouver's Mirasol Resources is Stephen Nano, a founder of the company. Mary L. Little, the other founder, recently resigned the CEO position.

Noront Resources of Toronto reports that Colin Webster has joined the company as VP of sustainability. He was previously employed by Goldcorp as director of aboriginal, government and community relations in Canada and the United States. He was also a founding partner at Blue Heron Solutions for Environmental Management, an environmental consultancy in northern Ontario.

Yves Dessureault is the new COO at Probe Mines of Toronto. He replaces Michael Petrina who is leaving the company. Dessureault has over 25 years of international mining experience in operations, consulting and engineering, particularly in project evaluation for the past 15 years.
