Gary Halverson, CMJ's 1999 Best Mine Manager in Canada, has been named president and COO of Cliffs Natural Resources in Cleveland, OH. A native of Sudbury, ON, he has had a diverse and successful career in the gold, copper and nickel industries. He was most recently regional president for North American and interim COO of Barrick Gold.

The new eastern regional sales manager for IROCK Crushers is Thomas Jordan. In addition to building the dealer network and helping in the selling and service of IROCK equipment, he will train sales teams and assist in developing new IROCK products and markets.

The Ludwig von Mises Institute of Canada in Toronto has asked Eric Sprott, CEO of Sprott Asset Management and chairman of Sprott Inc., to join its newly formed Advisory Board. He brings 40 years of experience to the position.
