Vancouver’s Comstock Metals, owner of the QV advanced exploration project in Yukon, has named Ehsan Dana as president CEO and a director, effective Feb. 22, 2016. Previously he was the lead mining analyst at BC Investment Management Corp. He is also the holder of a mining engineering degree from the University of British Columbia. The new president and CEO of Kombat Copper in Toronto is Paul Bozoki, formerly the company’s CFO. He holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and has more than 20 years’ experience in Africa. Bill Nielsen has stepped down as president and CEO but remains on the board. Vale Canada has named two new vice-presidents for its Canadian operations – Mark Scott for Manitoba and Stuart Harshaw for Ontario. Scott was previously the manager of mining and milling for the Manitoba Operations. Harshaw has worked for the company since 1990, recently as VP of marketing and sales for base metals in the Asia Pacific region. The board of Toronto-based Wesdome Gold Mines has been shuffled as Barry Smith steps down from the chairman’s position but remains on the board as an independent director. Charles Page is the new chairman. Nadine Miller, a trained geotechnical engineer, has also been made an independent director, and Hemdat Sawh has accepted the role of CFO and resigned from the board.
