Energizer Resources has announced the appointments of V. Peter Harder as chairman and Richard E. Schler as CEO of the Toronto-based company.
Toronto's Honey Badger Exploration has made several appointments to its board and management team. John P. Sanderson is now chairman. Richard E. Schler has stepped into the CEO role from that of CFO. Quentin Yarie is now president and COO rather than VP exploration. Peter D. Liabotis becomes the CFO as well as continuing to sit on the board.
Mark A Smith is the new CEO and a director of NioCorp Developments in Vancouver. He was recently CEO of Molycorp and before that president and CEO of Chevron Mining. He holds a BSc from Colorado State University and a JD from Western State University, College of Law.
Noront Resources of Toronto has named Alan Coutts its new president and CEO, effective Oct. 1, 2013. Most recently he was managing director of Xstrata Nickel Australasia, and before that he was general manager of Xstrata's Brunswick mine near Bathurst, NB.
Igor Gonzales has joined the board of Sierra Metals in Vancouver. From 1998 to 2013 he was with Barrick Gold, most recently as executive VP and COO. He is also on the board of Hudbay Minerals. Gonzales has a BSc in chemical engineering from the University of San Antonio Abad in Cusco, Peru, and was a Fulbright Scholar at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, where he earned a MSc in extractive metallurgy.
