Chuck Jeannes, president and CEO of Vancouver’s Goldcorp, has announced his retirement, effective at the company’s annual general meeting in April 2016. Jeannes has led Goldcorp since January 2007 and has been with Goldcorp and its predecessor company Glamis Gold for nearly 17 years.  David A. Garofalo, currently Hudbay Minerals president and CEO will succeed him. Hudbay Minerals of Toronto has announced the appointment as Alan Hair as president and CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2016. Hired in 1996, he has been the company’s COO since 2012. He succeeds David A. Garofalo. Brooke Clements has stepped down as president and CEO of Vancouver-based Peregrine Diamond’s wholly owned subsidiary Peregrine Exploration. Eric  Friedland will add the role of president to his responsibilities as chairman of Peregrine Exploration. Christian Bourcier has been named VP operations of Richmont Mines in Toronto, effective Jan. 11, 2016. He will be based in Rouyn-Noranda, QC. Bourcier is a former VP of Hecla Mining and general manager of the Casa Berardi gold mine. Vancouver’s Wellgreen Platinum has announced the departure of president and CEO Greg Johnson. COO John Sagman has been named to the positions on an interim basis.
