ANACONDA MINING of Toronto has realigned its management team and board of directors. John McBride has been appointed chairman of the board. The former chairman Lewis (Lew) Lawrick, is now president and CEO and remains a director. Dr. Fiona Childe has joined the company as VP corporate development.

Vancouver-based BLACKSTONE VENTURES has appointed Dean MacEachern as president and CEO effective immediately; he will also join the board as a director. MacEachern had been the company's COO; he replaces Donald McInnes who has resigned as president but will remain on as a director. In addition, Jari Paakki, currently the VP of project development, will take on the additional role of VP of exploration.

MIRARCO (Mining Innovation, Rehabilitation and Applied Research Corp.), based in Sudbury, Ont., has appointed Dr. Stephen Hall as president. Hall was formerly the head of the School of Science and Engineering at the University of Ballarat in Victoria, Australia. He brings a wealth of experience in minerals engineering and environmental management.

Toronto's NORTH AMERICAN PALLADIUM has appointed Dr. William Stone to the position of VP exploration. Stone has a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Western Ontario and brings over 25 years of exploration experience to the company, including significant experience with platinum group metals and nickel-copper sulphides.
