The new president and CEO of NORTH AMERICAN PALLADIUM of Toronto is Andr J. Duchane, a graduate of the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and of the Kellogg School of Business. Duchane and Greg Van Staveren were also named to the board of the company.TRUE NORTH GEMS of Vancouver has named a project leader for its Regal Ridge emerald project in Yukon Territory. Len De Melt will head the $2.1-million surface and underground exploration program at the site. His resum includes building mines such as the Ekati diamond mine, the Golden Bear gold mine, the Rabbit Lake uranium mine, Syncrude’s oil sands mine, and the Croiner gold mine.Barry L. Whelan, P.Geo, is the new COO of CANADIAN METALS EXPLORATION. He will be responsible for co-ordinating operations at the Turnagain nickel project in northwestern British Columbia.RADISSON MINING RESOURCES of Rouyn-Noranda, Que., has announced the appointment of Donald Lacasse as its new president following the departure of Guy Parent.
