The YUKON PROSPECTORS ASSOCIATION has given its prospector of the year award to Lori Walton of FIRESTONE VENTURES. Walton graduated from the University of Alberta with a M.Sc. degree in economic geology and also holds a graduate gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America. She has managed mineral exploration programs, acquisitions and joint ventures in Canada and Central America. Before joining Firestone, Walton worked as senior mineral development advisor for the Yukon government.
