Montreal-based ABB Inc. says Greg Farthing has assumed the role of VP sales and marketing for power products and power systems. He replaces Jean Guay who has become VP and general manager of the power and industrial systems business.

 

Chuck Edwards is now AMEC Americas' director of metallurgy. He works out of the Saskatoon, SK, office.

 

Kevin McArthur is retiring effective Dec. 31, 2008, from his job as president and CEO of Vancouver's Goldcorp. He will continue next year in the role of advisor to the new CEO, Charles "Chuck" Jeannes, the corporation's current executive VP corporate development. Jeannes began his career as a lawyer specializing in mineral transactions, permitting and mining regulatory issues. He has held executive positions at Glamis Gold and Placer Dome.

 

The new VP of operations at Vancouver-based Goldsource Mines is Wendy Mathison. She is a graduate of the University of British Columbia an has more than 25 years of mineral exploration and mining experience with companies such as Peregrine Diamonds and BHP Billiton World Exploration Inc.

 

Stornoway Diamond Corp. of Vancouver has made several executive changes. Catherine McLeod-Seltzer, who currently serves as the chairman, will move into the role of lead director for the company. At the same time, Eira Thomas, presently serving as CEO, will assume a new role as executive chairman. Matt Manson, who presently serves as president, will assume an expanded role as president and CEO. Coincident with these changes, Thomas will be taking a four-month maternity leave.
