ADRIANA RESOURCES of Vancouver has named Michael Petrina VP operations. His 25-plus years in the industry include experience in operational, engineering, mine development, financial modelling and acquisition analysis, and as a past technical advisor and engineering consultant for numerous mining companies around the world. His previous post was general manager of operations for Adanac Moly.

Collin Ellison will become the new president and CEO of Toronto's ASIAN MINERAL RESOURCES on Aug. 4, 2008. He replaces Rob Thomson who is stepping down for family reasons but will remain on the board. Asian has scheduled its Ban Phuc nickel project in Vietnam for production in early 2009.

Andr Falzon, formerly of Barrick Gold, has been elected to the board of AURIZON MINES in Vancouver.

The INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL ON MINING & METALS (ICMM) has appointed Dr. R. Anthony (Tony) Hodge its next president. He is Kinross Professor of Mining and Sustainability at Queen's University in Kingston, Ont. His appointment becomes effective on Oct. 1, 2008.

David A. Berg has been named chairman of the board at Vancouver-based POTASH ONE. The company has an option to acquire 100% interest in four potash properties including the Legacy project in Saskatchewan.

Shareholders of Vancouver's SILVER STANDARD RESOURCES have re-elected the company's slate of directors, and Peter Tomsett was appointed chairman. Tomsett was president and CEO of Placer Dome until that company was taken over by Barrick Gold. He is also chairman of Equinox Minerals and a director of Northern American Energy Partners.

Roman Friedrich III is the now the executive chairman of STRATAGOLD CORP. in Vancouver. He joined the board in 2003 and has been chairman since 2006.
