Toronto-based Alder Resources has named the Hon. Pierre Pettigrew to its board of directors. He has served as Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister for International Trade and the Minister for International Co-operation. He is now with Deloitte & Touche LLP in the role of executive advisor, international.

MAG Silver of Vancouver has appointed Michael Petrina as VP operations. He was formerly VP mining for Hawthorne Gold.

Scott Trebilcook has been hired by Vancouver-based Nevsun Resources as its VP business development and investor relations. He holds a degree in process engineering and an MBA. He is to guide the company's Bisha project in Eritrea to production early next year.

Rambler Metals & Mining of Baie Verte, NL, has promoted Peter Mercer to the position of VP corporate development from his previous role as project co-ordinator.

Toronto-based St. Eugene Mining has named Kevin Weston its new president and a director. Previous president Jennifer Boyle will retain her title as CEO. Weston is a former COO of Farallon Mining, VP operations at Capstone Mining, Myra Falls and Caribou mine manager at Breakwater Resources, president of Ross Finlay, and employed at numerous other Canadian gold and base metals projects.

The new VP mine operations and projects at Ursa Major Minerals of Toronto is Eric Loch, who has over 15 years' experience around the world. Additionally, Victor Hugo has been named financial controller.
