Alderon Resource Corp. of Vancouver will name Tayfun Eldem its president and CEO on Sept. 7, 2011. At that time Mark J. Morabito will become executive chairman and Stan Bharti will take over the duties of vice-chairman. Eldem is a former VP of expansion projects and engineering at Iron Ore Company of Canada.

The new COO at Vancouver-based Bellhaven Copper and Gold is Richard (Dick) Lyon. He is a graduate of Michigan Technological University (Houghton) and was part of the team that brought the Muskeg River oil sands mine and upstream processing plant on stream in 2003.

Canada Lithium of Toronto is adding to its team for the Quebec lithium mine to come on stream in 2013. Donald Blanchet takes up the role of VP sustainable development in charge of environmental approval processes; Jean Luc Bernier, formerly with Rio Tinto Alcan, is the metallurgical superintendent; and Marco Plourde will be the superintendent in charge of construction.

John Pattison is the newly named chief geologist at Vancouver’s North American Nickel and VMS Ventures. A graduate of the University of Toronto, he has over 25 years of experience in base metal and PGE sulphide exploration.

San Gold Corp. of Bissett, MB, has appointed Stephen W. Harapiak and Michael Anderson to the board of directors. Their appointments follow the retirement of Richard Boulay, Courtney Shearer and James W. McCutcheon. The company has also named Jeremy Link VP corporate development.
