American Consolidated Minerals of Vancouver has a new president, Al Fabbro, formerly of Canaccord Capital and Yorkton Securities. His appointment follows the resignation of Robert Eadie from the posts of president and CEO.

 

Peter Secker has been named by BacTech Mining of Toronto as project manager for the company's tailings reclamation project near Cobalt, ON. The feasibility study is to begin in July, and construction could start in April 2010. Secker has overseen construction of and managed mines in Australia, South Africa, China and the Pacific, including two of BacTech's plants in Youanmi, Western Australia, and Laizou, China.

 

GWR Resources of Armstrong, BC, has appointed Rob Shives as VP exploration and a director of the company. He was a long-term employee of the Geological Survey of Canada and headed its airborne radiation geophysics section before returning to the private sector in 2007.

 

Russian nickel producer Norilsk Nickel has named Evgeny Potapov the head of overseas assets of the company, and Evgeny Muravyov has been named general director of Kola MMC, a Norilsk subsidiary.

 

Rodney Koch will join Saskatoon-based Titan Uranium as VP exploration on June 1, 2009. Most recently he was chief geophysicist at Areva Resources. Koch was also involved in the Shea Creek and Kiggavik uranium discoveries.
