AMERICAN CREEK RESOURCES, headquartered in Raymond, Alberta, has named Raul Sanabria its VP exploration. He has worked in Spain, western Africa and Canada. He holds an MSc in geology and mineral resources awarded by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.

Vancouver-based CROSS LAKE MINERALS recently appointed John R. Brodie, Alan G. Boon and Paul F. Saxton to its board of directors. Former members Gordon Keevil, Emmet McGrath and Brian Kynoch have resigned. Boon will also take up the duties of president and CEO.

Bish Chanda has been promoted to senior VP market and strategy at NEW MILLENNIUM CAPITAL CORP. of Calgary. Among his responsibilities is liaison with Tata Steel.

NEWMONT MINING of Denver has elected Simon Thompson to its board. He career includes executive positions at Anglo American, Tarmac Group, Minorco Brazil and with the Warburg and Rothschild investment banks. Newmont says Thompson’s mining and finance experience covers more than 30 countries.
