Toronto's Andina Minerals has named W. Robert (Bob) Rose its new COO, effective Jan. 1, 2012. Previously employed by Kappes, Cassiday & Associates, he was the project manager who took Andina's Volcan gold project through feasibility.

The International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) of Washington, DC, has elected Thomas P. Hynes to its board of directors. He is also the executive director of the Canadian Mining Innovation Council in Ottawa.

Brian Penney, a former manager at Iron Ore Co. of Canada, is the new president and CEO of Vancouver-based Ridgemont Iron Ore Corp., effective Dec. 1, 2011. Current president and CEO, Mark Morabito, will become executive chairman of the company. Penney holds a degree in metallurgy from the Technical University of Nova Scotia.

Seprotech Systems of Ottawa has named Harry J. Marshall its new CEO. He brings over 36 years' experience in wastewater and water treatment industry to the job..

Montreal-based Vanstar Mining Resources has a new president and CEO, Martin Tremblay. He replaces Guy Morissette, who as CEO in an interim capacity.
