George Bee will become president and CEO of Toronto-based Andina Minerals on Jan. 19, 2009. He most recently was COO of Aurelian Resources and before that director of technical projects for Barrick Gold (including the Veladero mine when CMJ visited in 2005). He is a graduate of Camborne School of Mines. Bee's initial focus will be on Andina's Volcan advanced exploration gold project in Chile.
PMI Gold Corp. of Vancouver has named Jeffery Sternberg to its board of directors. He has a background in manufacturing and distribution.
Gonzalo Torres Macchiavello has been appointed president and CEO of West Hawk Development, headquartered in Denver and traded on the TSXV. Dr. Wm. Mark Hart will remain chairman of the company at no salary.
