MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Argentex, Canamex, Evolving Gold, Mining Association of Canada and Nemaska Exploration

Argentex Mining of Vancouver has appointed Peter A. Ball as executive VP of corporate development. Prior to joining Argentex, he was VP investor relations at Century Mining. He will be based in Vancouver.

Greg Hahn is the new president and CEO of Vancouver's Canamex Resources. He was a founder of Marathon PGM, interim president and CEO of Metalline Mining, and also president and CEO of Constellation Copper. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Michigan Tech. Hahn replaces Basil Pantages, who will remain on the board.

Vancouver-based Evolving Gold has named William (Bill) Gee to succeed Dr. Robert W. Barker as CEO, effective April 1, 2011. Gee is the holder of an MS in geology from the Colorado School of Mines, and has over 30 years of industry experience.

The Mining Association of Canada, located in Ottawa, has welcomed a new president and CEO, Pierre Gratton. A former long-term MAC employee, he spent the last three years at the Mining Association of British Columbia. He assumes his duties from Gordon Peeling, who is retiring on April 30, 2011.

Yves Caron is now VP exploration at Nemaska Exploration in Quebec City. This company has spun off its non-lithium assets into a new company called Monarques Resources, and Caron will hold the same title for the new company.
