Vancouver-based ASHTON MINING OF CANADA has welcomed Pierre B. Lebel and David H. Watkins to its board of directors. Lebel led Imperial Metals during the time the Mount Polley mine was developed and received the BC and Yukon Chamber of Mines' E.A. Scholz Medal for his contribution. Watkins, who is also head of Atna Resources, was president and CEO of Minnova, which is today Inmet Mining.

Augusto Baertl, former president of Antamina, is the new president and CEO of IMA LATIN AMERICA, based in Lima, Peru. He will head the team developing IMA's 100%-owned Navidad silver deposit in Argentina.

DASHER EXPLORATION of Vancouver has appointed Joan McCorquodale its VP exploration. Her responsibilities will include exploration of the La Juliana project in Mexico and the recently-acquired Klondike gold project.

Michael MacLeod has been named VP project development for Vancouver-based ADANAC MOLY CORP. With more than 25 years' experience, he will head the team responsible for furthering the Ruby Creek molybdenum project near Atlin, B.C.

Joseph Rokosh of Merit Consultants has been named project manager to prepare CORRIENTE RESOURCES' Mirador project for construction. Mirador is one of three gold/porphyry deposits the company owns in Ecuador.
