MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Asian Mineral, Bearing Resources, Coronet Metals, Gold Canyon, Jayden Resources, Riverstone Resources, Seafield Resources, and Simba Gold

Simon Booth has agreed to assume the role of president and CEO of Asian Mineral Resources of Toronto. Michael Brown has stepped down from those positions, but will continue as a non-executive director of the company.

Bearing Resources of Vancouver has named Geoff Chater as executive chairman, Robert Cameron as president and CEO, and David Watkins as lead independent director as part of a management realignment.

Vancouver-based Coronet Metals has announced the election of Theo van der Linde to its board of directors. He was also appointed president in addition to his position as CFO. Joel Dumaresq was named chairman, Stephen Stine CEO and COO, and June Hamilton corporate secretary.

Troy J. Fierro has joined Gold Canyon Resources in Vancouver as its new CEO. Akiko Levinson will retain the role of president.

Jayden Resources of Vancouver has appointed David Eaton as president and Letty Wan as CEO. Wan, the largest shareholder in the company, has relinquished her duties as chairman. Eaton was previously the CEO of Jayden.

Riverstone Resources of Vancouver has named Peter C. Carter its new COO. He was formerly the company’s VP engineering.

The new COO of Toronto-based Seafield Resources is David Prins. As a civil engineer he has experience in the evaluation, design, planning and development of mining project in Latin America. Prins was president of Explorator Resources that company was bought out in 2011.

Vancouver’s Simba Gold Corp. has a new president and CEO, Igor Vishnevskiy. He is also a director of the company and responsible for overseeing the exploration program at the company’s gold project in Rwanda.
