ATHABASCA POTASH of Saskatoon has appointed Terry Wallbaum as COO, Bradley Fettis as VP mining and Robert Connochie as advisor to the management.

Thomas F. Pugsley, well-known for his long-term senior management roles at Falconbridge, has been named a director of Toronto's DULUTH METALS. Pugsley is a graduate of the Royal School of Mines and McGill University, a fellow of the CIM and the Canadian Academy of Engineering. He retired from Falconbridge in 2004.

EUROMAX RESOURCES of Vancouver has invited Greg Hall to join its advisory board. He is a former chief geologist of Placer Dome's worldwide properties.

Dr. Michael Byron will join Toronto-based MERC INTERNATIONAL MINERALS as CEO and a member of the board. He earned his DSc in geology at Carleton University. He is also president and CEO of Ginguro Exploration.

MINERA ANDES of Spokane, Washington, has named Rob McEwen, chairman and CEO of U.S. Gold, to its board of directors. Victor Lazarovici and Don Quick are also joining the board.

Russell Hallbauer has been elected a director of NORTHERN DYNASTY MINERALS of Vancouver. He is also president and CEO of Taseko Mines. The company also noted that Marchand Snyman has been appointed CFO and a director.

Vancouver-based PORTAL RESOURCES has named David Hottman, a founder of the company, president and CEO in addition to his role as chairman. Former president and CEO Bruce Winfield will remain on the board.
