Robert Boyd, CEO of Saskatoon's Athabasca Potash, has resigned less than two months after he and an alternative slate of officers were elected. 

 

Harry Barr is the new chairman and acting CEO at El Nino Ventures of Vancouver. He replaces former president and CEO, Jean Luc Roy, who has resigned.

 

Grayd Resource Corp. of Vancouver has named Richard Hall its chairman of the board. He was president and CEO of Metallica Resources while that company developed the Cerro San Pedro mine in Mexico. He holds two geology degrees and an MBA from Eastern Washington University.

 

Toronto-based Loncor Resources has added Simon Village to its board. He is chairman of Banro Corp., a former managing director of the World Gold Council, and a founder of Exchange Traded Gold.

 

Silver Quest Resources of Vancouver has appointed Randy Turner as president and CEO, following the resignation of Robert Weicker.

 

Ian Watson, former chairman of Centennial Minerals and Galahad Gold, has joined the board of Skygold Ventures of Vancouver. His nomination follows the resignation of Jeff Pontius.

 

Vancouver's Sutter Gold Mining has named Matt Collins its new COO. He holds a BSc in mining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. The company also announced the resignation of Clayr Alexander. The duties of president and CEO will be taken up on an interim basis by James Crombie until a replacement is found.

 

Yukon Gold of Toronto has added Douglas H. Oliver and Paul W. Pitman to its board of directors. Oliver also becomes the president and CEO, and Pitman is the new VP corporate development and exploration. Former CEO and president Joey Guerra, Jr., will remain on the board.
