Diane Francis has joined the board of Vancouver-based AURIZON MINES. She is the National Post's editor-at-large, and an experienced financial journalist, broadcaster, best-selling author and sought-after speaker.

With completion of the takeover by Teck Cominco, the new board of AUR RESOURCES is Jalynn H. Bennett, Hugh J. Bolton, Dr. Norman B. Keevil, Peter G. Kukielski, Donald R. Lindsay, Janice G. Rennie and Robert J. Wright. In addition, Peter Kukielski, exec VP and COO of Teck Cominco, has been appointed president and CEO of Aur.

BMO CAPITAL MARKETS of Toronto is boosting its commitment to the global mining industry by hiring four equity research analysts. Senior analysts Tony Robson and David Haughton have moved to Toronto to join the mining research team. In addition, two mining analysts in London, U.K., will be joining the firm in September.

Brian McEwen and Damien Reynolds are joining BUFFALO GOLD of Vancouver on Sept. 1 as CEO and chairman, respectively.

Vancouver's NORTHLAND RESOURCES has added Tuomo Makela, president of Outokumpu Mining, to its board of directors.

TAGISH LAKE GOLD of Vancouver has hired Stuart Green as general manager of operations. He will head the team developing the Skukum Creek gold-silver mine. He comes to Canada from the Ok Tedi mine in Papua New Guinea.
