MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: AuRo Resources, El Tigre Silver, Mexivada and UC Resources

AuRo Resources of Vancouver has named John Gomez to its board of directors. He is a founder of White Gold Corp. and U3O8 Media Inc. He holds a BA from the University of Victoria.

The new VP exploration at El Tigre Silver of Vancouver is Steven Craig. He held a similar position at Gryphon Gold from 2006 to 2011. Craig's career includes participation in the team discovery of several gold deposits including Gemfield, Midway, Mary Harrison and Castle. He is associated with the early discovery and/or development work of Lihir Island, Pipeline, Rawhide, Barneys Canyon, Star Pointer, Borealis and Briggs gold mines. He earned a MS in economic geology from Colorado State University and a BA in geology from Western State College.

Vancouver-based Mexivada Mining has named A. David Heyl to the post of VP exploration. His 25-year career includes experience throughout the Americas notably with Barrick and for Southern Peru Copper. He has a BSc geology from Fort Lewis College in Colorado.

Gary Monaghan is now CEO at UC Resources of Vancouver. He has been a director since 2005. Jim Voisin will retain the titles of president and COO of the company.
