The new chairman of Vancouver’s BAJA MINING is Tom Ogryzlo, who has been a director of the company since 2005. A graduate of McGill University in Montreal, he has been president of several well-known mining and engineering companies, including Triton Mining, Black Hawk Mining, and Kilborn SNC-Lavalin.

CRESTON MOLY CORP of Montreal has invited Richard Godfrey to join its board of directors. He is also CFO of Sherwood Copper Corp.

Toronto-based DARNLEY BAY RESOURCES announced that Stephen Reford will become its new president and CEO following the company’s annual meeting on June 26, 2008. Leon La Prairie, the founder of the company and current CEO, will remain its chairman.

Joe B. Hinzer has been appointed COO of Toronto’s MIDLANDS MINERALS. An expert in African geology, he has been president of Watts Griffis & McOuat since 2004. Midlands is focused on its Sian gold project in Ghana.

NORTHLAND RESOURCES of Vancouver has hired Dr. Vladimir Benes as VP exploration. He will oversee work at the company’s iron ore and base metal projects in Sweden and Finland.

Vancouver’s PAN AMERICAN SILVER has made three promotions within its management ranks. Steven Busby steps up to COO from senior VP project development. Joe Philips, formerly country manager in Mexico, becomes senior VP project development as Andrew Pooler has resigned that position. And the new senior VP mining operations is Andres Dasso, formerly the company’s country manager in Peru.

Paul Dimitriadis is the new COO of Toronto-based SPROTT RESOURCE CORP. He also assumes the responsibilities of general counsel and corporate secretary. Steven Austin has been named CFO.
