MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Bestech, Goldstrike, North American Palladium and Silver Predator

Patrice (Pat) Dubreuil is now VP operations at Bestech of Sudbury, ON. He joined the firm as 2008 as manager of technical support and services, and has also been manager of sales and marketing, and most recently corporate services and sales and marketing manager.

Goldstrike Resources of Vancouver has named Terrence (Terry) King its president to go with his duties as CEO and chairman. He is a principal of the Vancouver law firm Holmes & King, and has a background in corporate finance and securities.

Dr. David C. Peck is joining Toronto-based North American Palladium on March 1, 2013, as head of exploration. He specializes in magmatic nickel-copper-PGE deposits. Recently, Peck served as president and senior technical and strategic consultant at Revelation Geoscience, a North American-based geoscience and exploration consulting company that he co-founded. Prior to this, he served as global nickel commodity leader at Anglo American. Peck previously was responsible for project generation in western North America for Falconbridge, was a senior mineral deposits geologist with the Manitoba Geological Survey, was adjunct professor at two Canadian universities, taught a graduate course in mineral exploration at Laurentian University, and was the technical lead on a multi-year mineral potential study funded by the Ontario Geological Survey. He has authored numerous public presentations and government and academic publications addressing his area of specialization.

Vancouver-based Silver Predator Corp. has a new management team since the takeover of Nevgold closed. The new CEO is Nathan A. Tewalt, a founder of Nevgold and Colombia Mines. The new VP exploration is Thomas Chadwick who is credited with a number of discoveries, including the Montanore deposit in Montana and the Hollister mine in Nevada, during his career.
