MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: BioteQ, Coal Association, First Nickel and HudBay

BioteQ Environmental Technologies of Vancouver has named Jonathan Wilkinson its CEO. He will join the company on Oct. 11, 2011, replacing retiring CEO, Brad Marchant.

BioteQ Environmental Technologies of Vancouver has named Jonathan Wilkinson its CEO. He will join the company on Oct. 11, 2011, replacing retiring CEO, Brad Marchant.

The new president of the Coal Association of Canada in Calgary is Ann Marie Hann. She has an MBA from Memorial University of Newfoundland and enjoyed an outstanding career in government service and at the Propane Gas Association of Canada.

Toronto-based First Nickel has hired Thomas M. Boehlert as its new president and CEO to replace William Anderson, who is retiring. Boehlert was most recently CFO at Kinross Gold.

HudBay Minerals of Toronto has made several management appointments in conjunction with the creation of two new business units within the company: Manitoba and South America. The appointments include Brad Lantz, VP Manitoba Business Unit; Cashel Meagher, VP South America Business Unit; Hernan Soza, VP exploration; Victor Loayza, president HudBay Peru; and Terry Linde, director of projects HudBay Peru. Lantz and Soza will be based in Toronto; Meagher, Loayza and Linde will be based in Peru.
