MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: BMO Capital, Crosshair, Kilo Goldmines, Stornoway and Stratton Resources

Steve King has joined BMO Capital Markets in Toronto as a mining analyst. His area of focus will be junior companies. He holds a BSc in geophysics from Memorial University and an MSc in geology from Acadia University.

Crosshair Exploration and Mining of Vancouver has named Mark Ludwig its COO (US) and Horace H. "Bevo" Beaven as VP corporate communications. Ludwig holes a mining engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from Regis University. He is a former employee of Hecla Mining and BHP Billiton. He will be based in Denver.

The new president and CEO of Toronto-based Kilo Goldmines is Alex van Hoeken, a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines. He has extensive experience in Africa and Europe.

The following have been elected to the board of directors at Stornoway Diamond Corp. of Vancouver: Monique Mercier (Telus Communications), John LeBoutillier (Industrial Alliance) and Michel Blouin (Lavery). Eira Thomas remains chairman.

New additions to the management team at Stratton Resources of Vancouver are COO Richard Haslinger, VP exploration George Nicholson, VP corporate development Jason Leikam, and CFO Peter Rees.
