Chieftain Metals of Toronto has named Keith Boyle COO, effective Feb. 7, 2011, and Clive Creaney project manager, effective Jan. 1, 2011. Boyle is the former executive VP and COO at Alexis Minerals. Creaney's career spans over 30 years mostly in construction management.

Vancouver-based Hathor Exploration recently named Dr. Michael Gunning its president and CEO and Jim Malone its chairman of the board. Jay Fredericks and Dr. Alistair McCready are now VPs of project development and exploration, respectively. In addition, Ben Ainsworth will advise the board on special projects and new business opportunities.

Pacific Ridge Exploration has a new VP exploration, Janice Fingler. She has worked on a wide range of projects across Canada, South America and the Arctic. For the past year she has been consulting with the company concerning its Mariposa gold project in the Yukon.

PMI Gold of Vancouver has appointed Collin Ellison its CEO. He has been operations manager at gold projects such as Freeport-MacMoran's Karonie, Australmin-Newcrest Mining's Tuckabianna and Orion-Gasgoine's Yilgarn Star. Former CEO Douglas MacQuarrie will remain with the company as executive director.

Tom Pollock is the new VP exploration at Prodigy Gold of Vancouver. He will oversee the company's exploration projects including those in the Beardmore-Geraldton, ON, area and the resource expansion program at the Magino mine project.

Kirk Bailey is the new executive VP oil sands ventures at Suncor Energy of Calgary. Former senior VP international and offshore Mark Little will become executive VP oil sands.
