Eric W. Norton will join Commander Resources of Vancouver on June 15, 2010, taking over the roles of president and CEO from Ken Leigh, who will remain on the board of directors. Norton joins the company after more than 30 years with Teck Resources and three years with Baja Mining. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto.

Detour Gold of Toronto has announced its development team for the Detour Lake gold project in northern Ontario. Greg Miazga, formerly of AMEC Americas, will be director of construction and engineering. Sheldon Rachuck will lend his expertise as director of procurement, contracts and logistics. Jim Robertson will take up the duties of director of environment and sustainability, duties he formerly held with Barrick Gold and Placer Dome. After six years at De Beers Canada's Victor mine, Rachel Pineault will be director of human resources and aboriginal affairs. They will report to senior VP of capital projects Pierre Beaudoin.

Effective June 7, 2010, Jonathan Henry will be the president and CEO of Toronto-based Gabriel Resources and sit on the board. He brings to the role a successful track record of international precious metals development, expertise that will be used in advancing the company's Rosia Montana project in Romania.

Vancouver-based Greystar Resources has a new president and CEO, Steve Kesler. David Rovig, who is retiring from those responsibilities, will assume the position of chairman of the board.

John Smith will join Silver Standard Resources of Vancouver as CEO, effective Aug. 6, 2010. Mike Anglin will continue to be interim president and CEO until that time, when he will revert to his previous role as director.

UEX Corporation of Vancouver has named Water Segsworth and David Rhys to its board of directors.
