CORNERSTONE CAPITAL RESOURCES of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland, has asked Glen McKay to add the CEO's duties to his role as president. Mike Basha replaces McKay as president of the company's Latin American subsidiaries. Former CEO John Fleming will remain as a director and chairman of the enterprise.

G. Ross MacFarlane has been appointed president of Toronto-based EXCELLON RESOURCES. He has been a consultant to the company since 2002.

Now that GOLDCORP of Vancouver has completed its takeover of Glamis Gold, it has shuffled its management team. Effective in mid-November, Ian Telfer, president and CEO of Goldcorp, will become chairman of Goldcorp. Kevin McArthur, president and CEO of Glamis, will become president and CEO of Goldcorp. At the same time, the Goldcorp board will be reconstituted with 10 members, six from the board of Goldcorp and four from the board of Glamis.

Paul Sarjeant is the new president and CEO of Toronto's GRANDVIEW GOLD. A graduate of Queen's University, he worked at the Lupin gold mine and explored for metals around the world. From 1999 until he took up his duties with Grandview, Sarjeant ran a securities business focused on strategic planning and investment analysis.

LIONORE MINING INTERNATIONAL has named Peter Breese its new COO, effective immediately. He will remain as managing director of LionOre Africa until a replacement is named in the near future.

Dr. David Good has joined MARATHON PGM CORP. in Toronto as its VP exploration. He wrote his PhD thesis on the Marathon deposit.

NEWMONT MINING of Denver has announced the retirement of its president Pierre Lassonde on Dec. 31, 2006. In conjunction with that announcement, the company also noted the following appointments. Tom L. Enos will be executive VP operations; David Harquail will be executive VP exploration and business development; and Stephen Enders will be senior VP exploration. Richard O'Brien will become executive VP and CFO; Britt D. Banks will become executive VP legal and external affairs; and Darla Caudle will become senior VP human resources.

David Garofalo has been asked to join the board of Vancouver-based STORNOWAY DIAMOND CORP. He is also the VP finance and CFO of Agnico-Eagle Mines.

Former Falconbridge CEO Derek Pannell has accepted a seat on the board of directors of Vancouver's TECK COMINCO.
