Grant Hall has been named the new president and CEO of Harmony Gold of Vancouver. Craig Englesman has resigned from those positions but will continue to sit on the board.

Raymond Floyd, senior VP maintenance in Suncor Energy's oil sands business has been inducted into the Manufacturing Hall of Fame (Steve Jobs, Jack Welch and Lee Iacocca are previous inductees). The induction into the Manufacturing Hall of Fame follows close on the heels of another award. In August 2011, Floyd received the Shingo Research and Professional Publication Award for his book Liquid Lean: Developing Lean Culture in the Process Industries. He is the only person to have won both the Shingo Prize for Research and the Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence, which he was awarded in 1991 for work done at Exxon.

Halifax-based Ucore Rare Metals has named Ken Collison its new COO. He holds mining degrees from the University of Saskatchewan and previously was the COO at Blue Pearl Mining and Thompson Creek Metals.
