With the successful acquisition of the former Lupin gold mine in the Northwest Territories, Patrick Downey has officially become president and CEO of the new owner, Elgin Mining of Toronto. The company is winterizing the camp at the mine site in preparations for drilling this winter.

Vancouver-based Goldrush Resources has named Driffield Cameron its VP exploration. A geology graduate from Acadia University, Cameron will head up the company's team exploring in Burkina Faso.

Northgate Minerals of Vancouver has appointed Richard J. Hall as president and CEO. He is the former president and CEO of Metallica Resources and has served on the Northgate board since 2008. Former Northgate president Ken Stowe has retired.

Feisal Somji is the new president and CEO of Prize Mining Corp.  of Calgary. James Glass, who formerly held those positions will remain a director of the company.
