Toronto-based HudBay Minerals has made three key appointments. Long-time HudBay employee Tom Goodman has been promoted to senior VP and COO. Ken Gillis, who has 15 years experience as a leading mining industry investment banker, is the new senior VP corporate development. Alan Hair, who formerly held the slot now occupied by Gillis, is the senior VP business development and technical services.

Orsa Ventures of Vancouver has named Linda Thorstad its president and CEO. She has held senior positions at junior mining companies and at the Vancouver Economic Development Commission. She is a past-president of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. Thorstad is also winner of the Influential Women in Business Award.

Margaret Kent, former president and CEO of Century Mining, is taking up the duties of executive chairman of Tamerlane Ventures in Blaine, WA.
