Vancouver-based INTERNATIONAL URANIUM CORP. welcomed two new board members, Eira Thomas and Brian D. Edgar, on March 22. Thomas is well-known for her contribution to the discovery of the Diavik kimberlite in the Northwest Territories; she is currently president and CEO of Stornoway Diamond Corp. Edgar, a graduate of the University of British Columbia law school, is co-founder of Rand Edgar Investment Corp.

W. Robert Dengler and Stephen Freedhoff have joined the directors at IAMGOLD CORP. of Toronto. Dengler is best known for his association with Dynatec, a company he helped found. He is also the holder of an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Queen's University. Freedhoff's background is in accounting.

METALLIC VENTURES GOLD of Reno has hired John E. Rice as VP operations. He will oversee development of the Goldfield and Converse projects in Nevada.

Murray John has accepted the position of president and CEO of Toronto-based CORONA GOLD CORP. He will continue to be president and CEO of Dundee Resources, a subsidiary of Dundee Corp., which is Corona's largest shareholder.

Toronto's VALDEZ GOLD says Mark E. Goodman will take up new duties as its president and CEO early this month. He replaces Peter Walker who remains on the Valdez board. Goodman will retain his responsibilities as chairman and CEO of Woodruff Capital Management.

Effective at the BCMETALS annual meeting on May 4, Carl Zuber is retiring from the CEO position and will become executive chairman. Ian Smith will assume the duties of CEO in addition to his offices of president and COO.

CONSOLIDATED GOLD WIN VENTURES of Vancouver has named a new VP of exploration, Robert Maddigan. The consulting company he founded in 1991 has been project manager and general contractor for numerous building projects in the Canadian and Russian Arctic.

Fred Baker is bringing his mine services consulting and engineering expertise to WALLBRIDGE MINING of Toronto. He is officially manager of mining and environment. He first mandate is to direct the metallurgical testing, permitting and bulk sampling of the company's Broken Hammer zone on the Wisner property near Sudbury, Ont.

SULTAN MINERALS of Vancouver has engaged Ed Lawrence to act as provisional manager of underground exploration at its molybdenum project at the former Jersey-Emerald mine near Salmo, B.C. He was manager when the mine closed in 1973.

Toronto-based PEARL (Patent Enforcement and Royalties Ltd.) has appointed Kenneth W. Collison its new COO. He will spearhead development of the company's Yorke-Hardy molybdenum deposit near Smithers, B.C.
