Vancouver-based LUNA GOLD has hired Jim Bahan as its COO. The company is a partner in the Piaba gold project in Brazil.
Carlos H. Bertoni is the new COO of Toronto-based AURA GOLD and the president and CEO of the company's Brazilian subsidiary. A graduate of Queen's University, Bertoni was most recently CEO of Minires du Nord, a Quebec-based company.
DOUBLESTAR RESOURCES of Vancouver has named Paul Gray its next president and COO. He had been the company's VP exploration. Alan Savage, the former president, will continue his role as CEO and chairman. The company added Michael Collins to its board upon the resignation of James Watt and Paul Saxton.

SYNENCO, the Calgary-based oil sands company and managing partner of the Northern Lights development, announced that Nicolaas "Nico" Duursema will join the company as VP project design and development on Oct. 31. Additionally, Idar Eikrem has joined Synenco as executive VP and CFO.
