MINING PEOPLE IN THE NEWS: Petaquilla and Trelawney

Vancouver's Petaquilla Minerals has named Chris Davie its new president and CEO. COO Joao Manuel will become the president and CEO of two subsidiaries, Petaquilla Gold and Petaquilla Infrastructure. John H. Resing has been named chairman, succeeding Robert Baxter who will remain on the board. Petaquilla is creating a new company called Azuero Mining, and Richard Fifer will be its founding director, president and CEO. He is resigning from his offices, except the board, at Petaquilla.

Anthony (Tony) Makuch has joined the board of Trelawney Mining and Exploration. He has over 25 years of management, operations and technical experience. He is also president of Lake Shore Gold.
