Vancouver-based TECK COMINCO announced the appointment of Donald R. Lindsay as president, effective Jan. 1, 2005. He is a mining engineer by training and currently president of CIBC World Markets, as well as head of the bank's Canadian investment and corporate banking sector and its Asia Pacific business region.

The new president and CEO of Toronto-based YOUNG-DAVIDSON MINES is R. John Haflidson. He has over three decades of experience in the Canadian mining industry, including senior management positions with Barrick Gold, Aur Resources and Noranda. Jeff Becker has resigned as president and CEO but will remain chairman of the board and VP finance.

Paul J. DesLauriers has been elected chairman of SOUTH AMERICAN GOLD & COPPER in Toronto. He has been a director of the company since February 2002. His election follows the demise of previous chairman John C. Duncan.

FRONTEER DEVELOPMENT of Vancouver has a new exploration manager, Ian Cunningham-Dunlop. He brings to the job solid credentials earned during his efforts to enhance the size and understanding of the Eskay Creek gold deposit in British Columbia and his work at the Veladero gold project in Argentina, work which led to the discovery of the Guanaco Zonzo and Bruha Buena gold zones there.

Toronto's DIADEM RESOURCES has established a technical advisory committee consisting of A. Lee Barker, A.C.A. (Peter) Howe, Maurice J. Colson and George Silverman. Diadem is currently investigating three diamond projects in the Northwest Territories, Quebec and California.
